Rodgers may want to play into his 40s, but he's given plenty of signals that he's open to leaving GB. Perhaps he's been trying to get contract leverage or was pressuring GB to make certain roster or coaching moves, but for the last 3 years (at least) Rodgers has told anyone who would listen that he's out if GB doesn't toe the line.
Frankly, that might even be worse - I never got the sense that Favre was trying to get something out of GB by hinting at retirement. But with Rodgers, everything feels very calculated. In my opinion, Rodgers' petty, catty game of dropping hints and publicly airing dirty laundry is an order of magnitude worse than Favre's apparently honest "Will I or won't I" uncertainty.
