and the analysis that goes into drafting a QB it seems goes far beyond just "their cupcake schedule" which is all we'd hear from Mel regarding Zach...and he was willing to die on that hill day after day.
He should at least admit that these teams get a context he's not privy to in that they get to do their own analysis, they get to talk and test these prospects and all of those things contribute to their choices of whether they want a draftee.
Contrast that with what Joe Douglas said about why they drafted Zach - the tape is one thing, and they analyzed the things he did throughout his career - not just the "cupcake schedule" of 2020, taking in context what was happening each and every year, and also mention his "mental horsepower" his ability to recall, he's a gym rat that eats & drinks football, etc.
I just don't like that Mel once he makes up his mind about a prospect - it's done...as opposed to going and trying to find out why the Jets are so set on Zach. Granted he's got a lot of prospects he's trying to be knowledgeable about, but if you dig into Zach, you find out a lot more about the intangibles that drive him and have driven his success - not to mention how familiar Zach is already with the type of offense the Jets are going to run. Those are things that organizations find out...but "analysts" like Mel Kiper really don't.
