If it's really because they can't float the entire signing bonus up front...and they are an NFL franchise...

I had heard of that happening to the Raiders before, but the Johnsons are supposed to be billionaires. They gave Darnald his entire signing bonus within 30 days, and they want to spread Zach's signing bonus out into next year? Seriously?
Umm...Zach's been around enough money to know that you use your money to make more money. If they only paid half this year, that is an entire year of opportunity cost that he could be using to invest.
The precedent is set and the market is set. The Jets have the choice of being thought of as a clown show, or an organization with a plan that is committed to winning.
It would appear they are opting for the clown show.
