Common. The super rich, connected kids who weren’t facing debt and stress about finding the best job etc wmdidnt need the adderall but often we’re heavy into coke. But adderall to aid academic performance was a thing and so were weed or harder drugs to calm down and cut the stress especially fir those that were striving to climb to the top worried about huge debt abd not getting a top job. Pretty ugly.

I like to think the abuse was nowhere near 40% but you never know. There was a poor guy from Appalachia — first generation college kid who grew up in a trailer park — that OD’d and died. Sad stuff.
