much better than either Gobert or Mitchell will ever be.
The best players on the last 15 championship teams have been Curry, Giannis, Lebron or Davis, Kawhi, Steph or Durant, Steph or Durant, Lebron, Steph, Kawhi, Lebron, Lebron, Dirk, Kobe, Kobe, Garnett
These are all time greats. They are all a level above the ceiling of both Mitchell and Gobert.
So the Jazz aren't missing a third star. They are missing THE star, and that is a lot harder to get than a third all star.
That's why I like the idea of Ben Simmons. Yeah, there is a ton of downside and the chances are way better that he is a mere all star than a super star, but he's the only guy that anyone has mentioned that has a ceiling that is super star. Its more likely than not that he does not reach that level of success, but there's a better chance that he does get there than the Jazz acquiring that type of player through trade without doing a complete tank job.
So if i'm the jazz i trade for Simmons or i do a complete tank
