Cal - the Bay Area is a large market but not exactly known for prolific youth football programs. Cal’s AD is so dysfunctional and woke that the few remaining alumni that appreciate sports lost hope years ago.

Washington State - Have you ever visited Pullman? Not even residents of Eastern Washington pay attention to Wazzu sports. Wazzu could drop all sports programs tomorrow and no one would notice.

Oregon State- Same for Corvallis. Professional lumberjack competitions draw more interest than Beaver athletics. Would have a losing record in the MWC in almost all sports, every year.

No way the costs of bringing these three schools into the BigXII can be justified. Forcing USC to accept smaller distributions so that the PAC12 conference could subsidize these three fiscal black holes is part of what killed the PAC12. Why would the Big12 repeat that mistake?
