Riley Nelson may have had the best statistical season ever for a high school QB. Scott Mitchell is likely the greatest
athlete period to play high school sports in Utah.
Nelson had 3800 yards, 50 TDs with only 6 INTs PLUS 1150 yards rushing with 29 more TDs in his senior year.
Mitchell was All-Region 1st team in basketball, baseball and football his junior and senior years, All-State 1st team in baseball his junior and senior years, All-State football 1st team senior year; State MVP in football and baseball his senior year in high school. He also received the Gatorade National Player of the year for Utah. That also doesn't include his other all-state nods when he was only 2nd or 3rd team his freshman or sophomore years.
