The way they officiated that game, it's a legitimate question that should be asked.
Without the terrible calls by the officials, I don't see how BYU doesn't cover.

Of the MANY bad calls tonight, the most egregious was the phantom hold on Pay

I feel bad for Miles. He deserved to punch that in.

On a long list. I’d say the phantom fumble that was only a return

What was dumb was the officials not immediately blowing the play dead when it was clearly a batted down pass

Two officials had a front row seat for that one.

The Bywater one was insane. The RB handed the ball off to the QB, he had to

They had been blowing the whistle for 3+seconds on that one.

Why the handoff? Why the qb attempt to run?

It was loud. Can you imagine if they hadn’t tackled him and he ran for 50?

It was definitely a hold, but so far away from the play it had no effect.

Not a hold at all. Not outside the frame and on the interior line. Yoot call

Replay was pretty clear. I wouldn't call it egregious but by the letter it was a penalty. Pay was beat and holding on.

We will just say this, if it was Wyo with the ball, the refs would never have called it, that's why it's a bad call.
