It makes the black brides family seem cold, racist, mean-spirited and without charity — led by Eddie Murphy’s character who is essentially playing Louis Farrakhan.
I can understand why blacks would take offense to this film as well since they are characterized as being defensive, hypersensitive and prejudiced.
It’s not a fun, easy going, silly attempt at blending families from two cultures e.g. “My big fat Greek wedding” — its more of a “we are going to shove and project our ideology through this film and make the viewers suffer through it while pretending to find it humorous out of expectation” experience.
