At SL international because their SW flight that was supposed to leave at 11 got cancelled and couldn’t get them to LA for their competition until mid-day the following day. The squad was tired and worn out from traveling and ended up not making it to the finals. My prior two trips on SW (granted they were 2 years and 5 years ago), I ended up getting a delayed takeoff and ended up missing the second flight and had to rebook (both on the back end thankfully of a business trip) into SLC. My biggest issue is that so many of the SW flights, even relatively near, require a layover.
I’ll fly them if it’s convenient, but the costs are generally close to the other airlines, and I’d rather fly the others specifically Delta since I am diamond status and am back to getting upgraded to first class almost every flight. I never check bags and always carry on, so no concerns about free bags, and even so, I get my bags free since I have enough status on American, Delta, and United.
This is not to say I’ve never been delayed or had a flight cancel on one of the other airlines…I have. But it’s generally easy to rebook without any issue and get in relatively close to the same time.
I’m not saying people shouldn’t fly SW, but I prefer not flying them when I can avoid it.
