limitations on who they will consider. That doesn't mean that the candidates in that narrow pool aren't excellent. It just means that we need to hope that (1) we have a robust pool of qualified LDS candidates, and (2) BYU places themselves in a position where the top LDS coaches are interested in coaching there.

That last one is important because due to the small pool size, if the candidates in the pool aren't interested it would put BYU in a difficult spot.
