They likely operate very close to breakeven. You pay money to content creators
to get more content. They could be doing that even if they were in the red.
YouTube's margins are very small. Up until the last few years they were nonexistent.

They are operating at 38% gross profit margin and an EBIT of 9-18%, which is what Disney is running at.
