grandson having been arrested in Florida. This grandson had been traveling that very day to Florida, so the story had a basis. She couldn't get a hold of the grandson's family, so she went down and bought the gift cards needed ($5K). Incredible that she didn't wait until she could get a hold of the boy's parents. She doesn't do computers and has never had a cell phone, so she wasn't up on these scams whatsoever. We just wonder if it was totally a coincidence that the scammer said he was in jail in Florida on the day he was traveling there, or they were able to find that data somewhere.
