How do you reconcile that take with this data that shows players swing at wildly different speeds?
Giancarlo Stanton would never get a check swing again, Luis Arraez would get check swings all the time.
I don’t think check swings have anything to do with how fast the bat is moving before you stop.

I don’t think that’s a good metric. There’s a deceleration element too.
