I feel Russell is a bit of a paper tiger who played in an era when it was just a lot easier for a big man to throw up ridiculous stats. Wilkins was an amazing scorer but didn’t do a lot of other things.
Dr. J though? He was Michael Jordan before Michael Jordan was Michael Jordan. so much of what we think of as the modern game was actually invented by Dr. J, improved upon by Jordan, imitated by Kobe, and is the way two guards are supposed to play now.
Dr. J is probably the most underrated player in the history of basketball. And he is rated pretty highly. In terms of impact on the game top five easily.
