Fortunately for McMahon (and BYU haha), we didn't have the internet or sports radio so information was very limited. The things Jim did (or was rumored to do) were just that ... rumors so it wasn't nearly as much in the public's eye. Having watched all of of BYU's great QB's live, I have to say that McMahon is by FAR my favorite. He just had a fire and an exciting, unique way of playing. Teams would do everything they could to stop him, and he'd nearly always find a way to beat them. I was fortunate to be at the Miracle Bowl in San Diego against SMU. It was so discouraging during the game until the last 4 min and was then so exhilarating.
