There aren't words to describe how poor of taste it was and yet if I heard today that his life had crashed and he had personally hit rock bottom, I wouldn't see him as the person who had brazenly defiled a holy ordinance and instead see him as a brother desperately lost and in need of help.
A lot of BYU fans poked fun at him when he failed a drug test but they also recognized that he was at a point in his life where kids are going to be kids and he bounced back and got himself in good graces again with his coaches. Hopefully he never reaches this point in his life (where Max is now) but if he did most on CB would forget the religious disrespect he showed and express sincere hope he got help and got his life back on track.
