unless they structure an offense around his strengths he is never going to succeed....and neither will the 49ers on offense. Right now their O line is banged up and their defense is missing two of the best linebackers in the league. Boldin is play extremely well for his age, but he couldn't get open and neither could Crabtree or Davis. When they were open Kaep was throwing the ball behind, over and under where it should have been. That just won't get it done.
Seattle has taken a step back this season, but SF has taken two. Tweak the offense to Kaep's strengths or go find another QB to run your drop back scheme. Get some LB's healthy and retool for next year.
