No, I don't have a the pulse of the entire basketball community, but I know a pretty good sample size. I don't know anyone who's pushed Shaw as a force at the next level. Shaw is tall and can jump. I think we thought we were getting in on the ground floor with him and that he'd develop into something better than what he's shown. There have been several more dominant players than Shaw at the Idaho HS level recently, and the majority of those won't play at D-1 schools.
If Shaw is serious about his development, he may be very well served to look at a JUCO or smaller school where he can get on the floor and develop. Now, in the event that I'm wrong, it'll be the tastiest plate of crow ever. I've heard he's a nice enough kid; I just don't see how he isn't buried on the bench for the first half of his career as a BYU Cougar--and that's at a minimum.
