Can you explain this to me?
What do you consider a reason to watch? A team that wins 75% of the time? A team that goes undefeated? A team that wins it's toughest games? Is your happiness tied to being a "winner"? (not saying that is wrong, just asking)
Would a new coach make you happy? I know many on this board that would prefer a new coach to going 11-1. Why? Because then they would be right that Bronco couldn't cut it. For Bronco like most coaches cutting it largely a matter of luck. Injuries and bounces have derailed a couple of his seasons that could have been special.
Would the team making a P-5 conference be a reason to watch? It would certainly lead to more losses, but is that what is important to you? I would say our chances of running the table and making a playoff game don't change much or at all if we join a P5 conference. Does the schedule get better? Yes, a little bit compared to upcoming schedules (again probably means more losses).
Is it a lack of exciting players? If the team had a QB with better pro-prospects you would then want to watch?
If BYU went back to the original BYU/West Coast Offense would that be a reason to watch? Do you not like to watch the modernization of football and prefer the old style that you grew up with? Or maybe it is a 4-3 defense that you long for?
Would Royal Blue uniforms be a reason to watch? Is your happiness with being a fan tied to the color of the uniforms?
This may sound condescending, for which I apologize as it isn't meant to be that way. I am just curious what your definition is of "once there is a reason to watch".
