Four of the big five Texas football teams are in markets with no professional competition. UT in Austin, ATM in College Station, TT in Lubbock, Baylor in Waco. Only TCU is in / near a media market with major pro sports presence in Forth Worth. Does the fact that Houston has a pro football team, basketball team, and baseball team factor into how desirable the media market is to a conference? To me, the idea of adding another Texas team makes no sense at all, but nothing the B12 does / doesn't do seems to make much sense to me...
