People forget who the real decision makers are for the head coach position. This changed after Lavell retired and it is not going back to what it was before. Remember who gave Bronco his final interview, (Pres. Eyering).
The decision makers love what Bronco is doing and how he is running the program. Special seasons are not the primary goal for this program and a vast majority of the fan base and decision makers are fine with that.
They hope we can break through and have a magical season at some point. However, even if we did that, it will never be at the expense of losing control of the program and it's portrayal of the proper image to the church. That ship has sailed. Currently, Bronco is welcome and encouraged to stay as long as he wants as long as he runs a clean program that is competitive on the field.
