I'm working on a project that breaks down the film pretty well Zach Lowe style
Been watching KD a lot the past few days. He has some really clever off ball moves that get him easy looks.

Like most players he does some things that help and hurt his team. I'm not a huge fan of his game as a starter, but like him off the bench.

Mika was a better player as a frosh because he demanded more attention and was more physical. Also, fans are always going to have more patience with a 18 yr old with high potential than a 24 year old with limited potential.

The biggest weakness I've noticed with Davis (besides size/athleticism) is that KD seems to have a chemistry problem with his team mates. He zigs when they though he would zag. He plays on an island on both ends of the court at times. To his credit he started improving this toward the end of the season. He started making passes earlier and had slightly less tunnel vision.

Still, He seems to have a hard time with situational awareness. I have seen a lot of tape on him where teams expose him because he doesn't make adjustments. It has lead to turnovers on offense, or it has isolated him offensively from the team..

Defensively, they take advantage of him reacting slowly to making switches, rotating, or running out to shooters. When in position he is a decent shot blocker, though.

There are certain players that do well statistically, but struggle to help their team win. Ultimately my biggest criticism of KD is that he doesn't make his team mates better. He made our team better last year because of the front court situation---but i hope he watches a lot of film and makes adjustments in the off-season...if so he will be a great compliment to Mika....if he's the same player next year then byu will be much better off with him coming off the bench as the season progresses.

Chemistry is far more important to me than a players individual stats. That is one reason I liked Nate Austin. He's not as good of a player, but he had better chemistry with our team.

Chemistry, chemistry, chemistry.
