Look, I get that it is some crazy phenomenon to have a 15 year old HS Freshman who is already 7'4". Good for him. But, the game of basketball has changed a ton since the Shawn Bradley days and especially the way BYU plays. There is not a lot of room in basketball anymore for extremely tall guys who can only block shots and lumber up and down the floor.

I see BYU under Coach Rose wanting all 5 guys that can run the floor really well and shoot the ball. Just like BYU wasn't all that interested in David Foster a few years ago, I don't see Van Komen fitting at BYU. It just doesn't fit our system.
