BYU played the 19th ranked team on the road and the bookies had SMC as a 10.5 point favorite.
Should the outcome of yesterday's game really be a shock to anyone? It's almost as if many on CB expected BYU to win yesterday rather than hoped they could pull off the upset.
In the 20 years before Dave Rose, BYU was the regular season conference champion 6 times. In the 10 seasons Dave Rose has been coach, BYU has won the regular season conference championship 4 times. I think he's doing a pretty darn good job.
As far as the WCC is concerned, Gonzaga was a juggernaut before BYU and remains a juggernaut. Unseating Gonzaga is not an easy task for any coach. BYU does consistently compete with SMC for the 2nd place slot, having finished 2nd twice and 3rd twice since joining the WCC. BYU's two 2nd place finishes were the last two seasons.

Just curious. How many current college coaches have as many or more 20+ consecutive winning seasons as Rose?
