You say you're being insensitive. Could say the person taking your space is

being inconsiderate? Weight is a tough thing. Some people fight and fight to keep it off or get rid of it. It's emotionally draining. However there are circumstances where their troubles clearly effect those around them. Like many other life challenges but this one is very visible.
