10 foot ceilings and 8 foot doors
It's amazing how much more open a room feels with a higher ceiling, 8 foot doors because the standard height door looks tiny and weird with a higher ceiling

More hardwood, less carpet. Go with zoned HVAC system.

Make sure your garage is as big as possible.

Agreed. It is not possible to build a garage that is too big.

Our house has a decent sized garage, but there's a pole in the way that makes it hard to park both cars.

Better to have the pole inside the house for climate control while dancing.

Make a tall closet for your Christmas tree, so you can just store it fully decorated.
El Jefe

If you have a large house/family, double water heater is really nice. We run multiple or consecutive showers or laundry

All this, but I'd upgrade to Cat6 over Cat5.
El Jefe
4/25/17 10:42am
CAT6A. CAT6 can only run 10G for 55M. 6A can do the full 100M
