start at say the capital, hit the archives, then american history/natural history. from there, you walk directly to the washington monument, which is right in front of you. look to your right, and two blocks away is the white house. turn around and you're at the holocaust museum, then the air and space. eat dinner, and see lincoln and the war memorials i the evening.

too easy. i've taken people on this tour a million times. there is no reason to get on those buses unless you're just wanting to watch money fly away.
