Ok, maybe for someone who owns cars for <5 years it'd be better
but the rest of us?

Also, the cost per mile obviously diminishes over time. A car with 75k mikes cannot be worth negative dollars. At some point a threshold is hit in which each successive mile has no cost other than gas and contribution to periodic maintenance.

I did forget fees though. Add in $150/year for that... so $0.15 or so per day.

I think people are falling in love with self driving cars (and I admit, they do seem very nice and cool and convenient) but forget that it will all be done by companies looking to make a profit, and that costs may be higher - especially at first.
