Constantly looking to the future, waiting for the stars to align, is no way to live. You know why? The future is notoriously difficult to predict. Nobody knows what's coming next. Things often don't go as planned or expected. Just wait until Heaps is a senior or the LP3 make it campus or Taysom is an upperclassman. Get what I'm saying?
The way I see it, we've got as good a chance as we may ever have to for a special season this year. Why not this year? Because LSU and Wisconsin are on the schedule? All the better, my friend. To my mind, a special season means stepping up and taking down some of the big dogs, not just waiting until we can tear through an easy schedule.
Yeah, the odds may be against us in a few games this year, but to do something truly great you've got to defy some odds. It's not about waiting for things to line up just right for you, it's about going out and making something happen, imposing your will on the world.
It's that way in life, too. If you worry too much about the future you'll miss out on what the present has to offer. Figure out what you want and take your best shot right now, even if the timing isn't perfect. That's how it's done, man. Wait around and someone else will snatch it out from under you.
My unsolicited advice: change your name to Current Tacos and get on board. Nobody knows what next year will bring, but we've got a great chance to have an awesome season right freaking now.
This is the time!
