I almost never watch a baseball game live. Baseball games in general can drag, but playoff games can really drag. Everything is much more deliberate. More visits to the mound, a lot more pitching changes, etc., etc.
I record games I want to watch and then don't start watching until at least 90 minutes after the game has started. I zip through all commercials. I also fast forward 30 seconds between most pitches. If I happen to miss something I can always go back and see it.
The other day my wife and I were gone and I didn't start watching a playoff game until more than 2 hours after it began. By zipping through commercials and other pauses in the game, I caught up to live TV by about the 7th inning.
Baseball is great, but the powers that be really have to do something to eliminate a good portion of the dead time in the game. It can be painful to sit through. And playoff games are typically lasting nearly 4 hours.
