When we go to write a post, maybe take a deep breath and think about what we learned when we were young in Sunday School. Remember CTR and our CTR rings that many of us still wore in college? The same principles ought to apply to our conduct online.
It's a strange time when a few bad apples feel like it's okay to publicly display feelings of racism. This is because of this business in Charlotsville and the void of national leadership at the moment that would normally condemn racism and its viciousness. These bad apples who exist across the nation feel they no longer are constrained by what was for many years seen as disgusting behavior. I'm glad to see Mia Love stand up tonight and try to fill this void and call out racism and all its ugliness.
That all said, I do think the player's mom took some credibilty away from her post by attacking Ty Detmer. He is a good man and just ended up in a very tough situation where he lacked some college-level experience in coaching and had very bad luck with injuries this season. Let's not attack one of the best QBs to ever play at BYU.
