I know everyone seems to want to minimize Detmer's qualifications because that fits what folks want to be true, that we got rid of that old fart that says "aw shucks" and "Y'all" and now we'll be back on track. But do we really need to heap up more reasons including ageism (I assume some thought Detmer was just too out of touch with modern football, or is this just a way to say we hate old people?) for why Detmer was a bad fit and stamp out all suggestions there are other reasons why the offense and the team as a whole failed last year? Is that where we are?
