I feel like boats are kind of a status symbol in LDS communities. At least
that seemed like the case when I was growing up and now again as I’m older. Like, as much fun as boating can be (and I’ll agree, it’s a blast), the people who tend to buy them usually fit a certain profile, where you get the impression they’re trying to impress.
