Just a review of a couple of future cougars from the track this weekend.
Luc Andrada had a great weekend finishing the qualifying times in the 100m and 200m in “slow” times of 10.78 and 21.51.
His 4x200 squad placed first with a 1:28.77
He finished his career with a great day having a 10.51 personal best 100m which was slightly wind aided or it would have been a state record. A 21.21 200m first place finish (again slightly wind aided) and ended the meet with a great come from behind anchor on the 4x100 win at 42.20.
Blake Freeland of Herriman added to his state records by setting a new state record in the shot put. He not only set the 6A record he shattered it with a throw of 64’ 6” breaking the previous mark by 4’ 4”. He already holds the state 6A mark in the javelin. He did extend his Javelin record by 7’ also. Blake added a first place finish in the Discus at 165’ 2”. At 6’8” 260 he is listed as a future OL this fall. He has been a jack of all trades however playing QB, TE, Fullback, and DL. He is definitely an under the radar great pickup in last December’s early signing!
