The temples we saw were the ones along our route.

We also went to 7 National Parks (Crater Lake, Death Valley, Grand Canyon, Mesa Verde, Vicksburg, Theodore Roosevelt, and Glacier National Park) where my adult, Downs daughter did the Jr Ranger for each.

We tried to do about 4-5 hours of driving each day - although a couple of days we did 7-8 hours of driving.

It was almost 7,000 miles. We did a rental car instead of using our car because I could rent a hybrid for the 3 weeks for $500 with unlimited mileage. Saved wear and tear on our car and saved hundreds of dollars in gas by getting the hybrid.
