There have been multiple times this year when the coaches knew full well that we were likely going to be kicking the FG based on the distance for the first down and/or game scenario, and they should have anticipated it by calling a play that corresponded with a higher percentage FG - and they didn't.
If you know you are going for it on 4th down, that might change the play you call on 3rd down. How is this any different? It isn't.
Also, if you know your kicker sucks from the left hash, why are you even putting him out there to kick at all in that situation? Another coaching fail...
You play with the personnel you have, so you should scheme to fit them, or if the backup is better suited for that type of kick, put in the backup. This is a coaching problem as much or more than anything.
