So far BYU’s 6-3 resume is: #259(W), #35(L), #166(W), #33(W), #109(L), #112(W), #6(L), and #54(W)
The WCC is shaping up as the 8th strongest conference ahead of the A10 and MW with Gonzaga #9, St Mary’s #41, BYU #57, USF #108, Pepperdine #119, Santa Clara #125, San Diego #188, LMU #190, Pacific #194, and Portland #224.
If St Mary’s can stay top 50 all year and if USF can crack the top 100 this should easily be a 3 bid conference. Teams 3-6 have improved over the past few seasons and are all ranked top 125.
Ideally going forward you have an elite team, two solid tournament teams, and the 4th place team competing for a last 4 in chance.
Love and hate the WCC, but the potential here is much greater than the MW if the mid-bottom teams keep listening to the Zags and put effort to further improve and compete
