(1) All teams should be playing by the same rules. That didn't happen here.
(2) Even if you don't think it's a big deal, clearly the Astros thought it was worthwhile.
(3) Knowing if you're getting a fastball vs. an off-speed pitch would be a HUGE advantage. Of course you still have to watch for location, but pitchers deceive hitters more effectively with speed than with location.
