the biggest problem with the early test were that they were almost 50% chance of giving false negative
in someone infected with the virus. Testing takes time, that is why these new rapid tests will be so important to get working right — reduces lab stress, and gets results instantly (45seconds to 5minutes). I hope they work and can be manufactured in big numbers. Right now the US is testing at about 100,000 a day and more, but we need to be doing millions a day to make a dent, and by that time the most important test would be a serology test to see if you already had the virus.
