But Trout's not the critical run. Rendon is. So the question is whether you risk
putting the tying run at the plate (by walking Trout) versus setting up a potential double-play ball.
I would still pitch to Trout, but at least there's a trade-off involved (unlike with 2 outs).

Definitely pitch to him with 2 outs. It gives you two chances to get an out
