“It’s one thing for a young quarterback to impress against scout-team scrubs, as Sam Darnold did in 2018. It indicates he’s ready to see first-team reps. Wilson, though, is getting all the work with the starters. From the first OTA to the last, he’s QB1.
It hasn’t always been perfect for the No. 2 pick. While he threw just three interceptions in the media-open practices (one was Vyncint Smith’s fault, and another Chris Herndon’s), a few others (Jarrad Davis, C.J. Mosley) nearly went the other way. Still, at no point has Wilson looked out of place. He actually looked really, really good on Tuesday.
That’s not normal for rookies. You almost always see the same things — miscommunications, delayed reactions, forced turnovers. But none of that is prevalent with Wilson. New York’s so-so corner situation (we’re being generous here) is certainly playing a role, but it shouldn’t take away from Wilson’s promising start to the summer.”
Elijah Moore looks great as well. Excited for him. Braxton Berrios seemed to be ZW go to guy. Maybe his Milne.
