Cinci and BYU are the only non P5 athletic programs that resemble P5 programs at all. You can’t replace Cinci. BYU and
Cinci are head and shoulders above everyone else. On basically every metric - both athletically and academically - it’s not close at all.
The next two are a lot tougher. It’s some combo of Houston, UCF, Memphis, and Boise. But all of them have aspects that are just horrible. The easiest sell to the tv partners and to the public is probably Houston and UCF.
There are current P5 programs that are a lot worse than both of these two. A lot worse.
