BYU:
Jaren Hall - best player on the field and it wasn't close. He just broke Utah's back. No answer for him. Wasn't really slinging it down field a lot, so hard to measure his downfield accuracy, but his short range accuracy was excellent and his legs killed Utah.
RB - It's rare to see a RB get 100 yards against Utah. Nothing amazing in terms of breaking tackles or making moves, but yards are yards. Speed and power and good holes.
Line - Your line simply dominated Utah's line on both sides. Is BYU line better than we thought? Utah worse than we thought? Probably both.
Defensively - Props to your coaching. Lots of little wrinkles seemed to throw Utah off. Your line owned Utah's line in pass rushing.
Utah:
Woof
Bad line play, uninspired WR, careless turnovers x 2, missed FG, terrible coaching and bad play call on the 4th down, lack of emotion and effort
Just a really, really bad effort for Utah going forward
BYU going forward - With Hall, you could create problems for just about everyone you play and you have the line play to challenge anyone. You have a good team and if you bet the over on wins, you should be sitting pretty
Utah going forward - Is this a bad team or a bad game on a bad day? We should know in a few weeks, but that was pretty uninspiring. The PAC is bad enough that Utah should win some games, but challenging for the South with that kind of effort won't do it. Biggest disappointment was Utah's line on O and D. That's usually a strength and it simply wasn't good enough.
Good game Cougs. I'll make a note that on the Utah 247 board, plenty of people were complimentary of BYU fans and lots of nice things were said. Sounds like lots of reasonable people.
