Usf has good athletes. They are improving. They also run an no huddle uptempo offense that will probably keep byu in a base defense most of the night and prevent mass hockey substitutes we do. This has resulted in giving up more first downs when teams have done that to byu in years past. Byu defense coaching staff hasn’t proven an ability to quickly signal in blitzes or complexity. And they can’t change personal/formations on the field unless the offense substitutes.
Offensively byu should have some success but has yet to show its passing offense is nearly as dynamic and point heavy as last year (possibly backup qb factor too).
