I think he also stated that "Many of those games were won by the defense.
Including amazing defense vs Utah and ASU this year."

Which is arguably true. I've been mad about the defensive scheme before (especially some games last year and the year before), but it really is hard to complain about the defense this year. The defense became more and more frustrating to watch against USF, I'll admit. They weren't assignment sound, they took some bad angles and missed some tackles. But you also have to take it with a grain of salt knowing there were times we had literally half of our starters in the game. I hoped to see our depth come out and pass the test, but I'm also not shocked at how it played out, and I don't unfairly blame Tuiaki for it. I'm actually glad those guys got some play time and got to learn from it. I'm glad we got to test Bywater, Tooley, and Wilgar. They know what they need to work on this week. They'll also appreciate having Mahe back and some of those other defenders.

I think we want to see BYU beat up on lesser teams like we see top tier P5 teams do, but it usually doesn't happen. I think part of the reason is that we don't have the depth that Clemson has so we maybe rushed some starters out a little prematurely. I also think it's more important for us to test our depth a little bit for development.

I do always hate the "then you don't know football" posts. And the "well you don't know more about football than the coach so..." posts. I'll give you that.
