1. UVU had 0 offensive rebounds in the first half and 13 in the second half and OT. That most likely won them the game. BYU is never getting out and running off the board….. rarely ever. Credit UVU to completely crash the offensive glass knowing they would have plenty of time to get back on defense. Future teams will exploit this if we do not keep teams honest that are crashing 2-3 players.
2. Fous and Lohner both have better hands than Baxter yet they rarely ever roll. Baxter was killing teams on the timely toll. The high handoffs from Lohner and Fous are pointless because the guard defender goes over and the big cuts off the guard while Fous and Lohner stand and watch. Do this three times each possession and you get down 8 seconds on a shot clock. Lohner and Fous either need to be a threat shooting or start rolling otherwise it just will not work. If BYU is dead set on that offense then let knell, Knight or george be that guy and stick Lohner on weak side baseline and cut when his guy eventually cheats.
3. We need set plays for Barcello. He is money from the top of the key. Time to dig up the Tyler Haws offense.
