Start with each kicker kicking 13 FGs from the 38 yard line. Whichever team makes more receives the ball to start the overtime period. The team that makes the least will kick off. They do the kick off five times. The receiving team starts wherever they ended up on their third best kickoff return. After that, the OT period is played the same way it usually is with four exceptions:
- the defense gets one extra player on first down, two on second down, three on third, and four on fourth
- the QB can’t throw the ball to the same player more than twice per drive
- touchdowns are worth 9 points
- first team to score a TD wins
