As mentioned...
The delay has likely all come down to the Williams situation. Yesterday was a big day regarding that, so there should be clarity on that end. Dart would love to have stayed at USC, and the coaches tried to keep him. Williams has big asks, but he still likely goes to USC. I do not know how that meeting went, other than USC's staff was making a push to keep him, but he was likely packing his things/truck and leaving same day (flying home and grandpa driving things home).

All teams were in the mix at some point. I won't get into it, but Ole Miss and OU were always the leaders and we were always a tier lower trying to get in the mix (I credit the staff for even getting us in the mix). I hope we land Dart, but we were always behind. From the beginning we weren't a factor, but our staff made a good push.

As of yesterday (prior to the USC meeting) I was told the family was looking at various options but BYU was not talked about much and not really in the final mix. My two cents, Dart has always liked our staff, he would always let them make their case and likely said positive things about the program as they have been loyal, offered early, doesn't want to close doors and he has a younger brother so he was likely positive. Good to have a good relationship with a home town team.

I know people have heard we were/are in the mix, my guess is those sources came from the BYU side of things...not the family. I have no doubt the Dart's were nice, said positive things and kept us in the mix "as you never know". To be clear, early on when I was more in the loop BYU was not really discussed but in passing....I hope that something has changed. My guess is things have not changed and after his visit he reviewed things and came back to the same concludion.

I think Dart would crush it at BYU. He would fit in well with the O. Gel with the coaching staff. Be a great leader. I know his Mom would like him closer to home, as would his GF. He has no real historical ties to Ole Miss. Real sticking point is he wants to start and not wait, that was the first factor. Whether we want to believe it or not we don't have an OU nor SEC type reputation. Dart's goal is the NFL and Ole Miss seems like the quickest path.

My guess on order of preference for Dart: USC, OM, OU, BYU
Order of likelihood based on the Williams situation: OM, USC, OU, BYU

....based on all I know that is my guess.

I know many will say I am making up things etc., that is fine, just disregard. Not trying to argue about anything just passing along what I know. Many will say things to argue about my thoughts above on "why BYU", I likely agree with you. I am simply passing info along.

I hope this comes to an end soon. There are more details that I won't to go into broadly on an open board. Don't ask...I will not throw names out in public forum as sources, also will not go into all dialogue. If you need proof and think this is blasphemy please feel free to block me.
