May 14, 2022. The road to the trailhead is closed. Had to walk a mile and a half to reach the trail. Trail was clear for the first mile but then we hit snow on the trail. If you have spikes on your feet, you can walk on the snow. We were slipping and sliding so we had to turn back. Look forward to returning soon when the road is open and the snow has melted enough to allow us to hike further up the trail

Good trail but too slushy today. Bring snowshoes next time, crampons only helped a little. Did 10.8 miles total.
